As the end of the year approaches, we would like to remind you that as of 1 January 2023, all companies registered in Latvia must have an official electronic address which will serve as a primary means of communication between state and municipal authorities and companies.

Please create your official electronic address (e-address) now, so that from 1 January 2023 your company can receive correspondence sent by state and local government authorities electronically. The e-address can be created free of charge through the Latvija.lv portal by identifying yourself via Latvian electronic identification (eID card, eParaksts app or eParaksts card). A company's e-address can be created by a person who is registered in the Register of Enterprises as a company’s representative. A link to the portal resource for e-address registration is here: https://mana.latvija.lv/e-adrese-juridiskam-personam/

Once the e-address has been set up, we recommend registering additional users (authorised persons) to ensure that letters and notices received in the company's e-address are accessible not only to the registered representative of the company, but also to another employee or employees whose work duties include managing company's files. Accordingly, these authorised signatories should also have an electronic signature in order to be able to authenticate themselves for access to the e-address.

Further information on the creation and use of an e-address is available on the portal Latvija.lv.
