By August 2, 2022, Latvia, as all EU Member States, was required to transpose the requirements of Directive 2019/1158 on work-life balance for parents and careers. This Directive provides for various changes introduced to the Law on Maternity and Sickness Insurance and entered into force on August 1, 2022.
